Located on Dexter Avenue in the heart of Downtown Montgomery, the Kress project is comprised of three separate existing properties that have been redesigned as one in order to create a more fluid experience for the visitor. A mixed-use development, the Kress project combines retail, restaurant, office space, and residential all in one location. Twenty-nine new construction, contemporary apartments sit atop the existing 1929 Neo-Classical inspired Kress structure. Inside, the double height, highly decorative ground floor retail space has been preserved, while introducing a modern mezzanine to contain multiple retail tenants. Designed to take advantage of the foot traffic from the adjacent City of Montgomery Pocket Park, a new grand entrance from the west side and it’s large storefront windows bring ample amounts of natural light directly to the center of the building.
