The Archives and History Building addition in Montgomery, Alabama, successfully integrates the new west wing addition to the original 1938 building. From the exterior, the new wing matches the original building in scale, proportions, and details. New materials were used to create the look of the outdated poured in place concrete wall and columns. The landscape design largely implements the original design by Frederick Law Olmstead. The original interior lobby and corridors bring you seamlessly into the new wing. Original details and material incorporated into the new areas help integrate new and old.
