In 1996, Craig Mills, P.E. and Steven Conoly, P.E. created Mills-Conoly Engineering, P.C. (MCE), a consulting electrical engineering firm. In 2019 the sons, Adam Mills, P.E. and Cyle Conoly, P.E., became principals of the firm. Presently, MCE is comprised of the four principals, all licensed electrical engineers, and a bookkeeper. MCE provides electrical design, service and support to architects, engineers, government agencies, contractors and private businesses. Mechanical and plumbing engineering support services are provided through consultants selected by MCE based on project complexity. All principals are graduates of Auburn University in electrical engineering and are registered professional engineers with licenses in most southern states. The combined engineering experience includes over 100 years of new and renovation design in commercial, institutional, correctional, industrial, governmental and medical facilities. In addition to facility electrical systems design, the firm also provides medium voltage distribution design, short circuit, load flow, voltage drop and arc flash calculations, code research, interior and exterior lighting design, security (video and controlled access) design, commissioning, and cost estimates. Craig Mills and Adam Mills are Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD). Therefore MCE can provide standard compliant telecommunication design for all types of facilities. Adam Mills and Cyle Conoly are LEED Accredited Professionals.
Mills-Conoly Engineering, P.C. is dedicated to providing quality professional engineering services for diverse projects with varying degrees of complexity. The firm is small which allows the four registered principals to directly get involved and oversee all projects. The talented and experienced engineers provide great support and efficient work output. The firm strives for quality control in the design process which avoids construction conflicts. MCE also feels that providing service and support after design completion is important. MCE has performed commissioning services for a university dorm facility (9 buildings) and a data center. MCE is currently commissioning three buildings for Auburn University’s Poultry Science and has just been selected to commission a new field office and lab building for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management in Mobile. MCE is committed to utilizing qualified personnel, providing for their continuing education, and maintaining state-of-the-art hardware and software in order to produce a quality set of construction documents.
